Things.

Hello again! It's gotten to that point where nothing super exciting is happening every day, so I can just update you all periodically :)

I think it's safe to say that Cory and I are going to be pretty worn out after this summer. Small children have sooo much energy!! It takes a special person to make childcare their life's work. I salute you! This is my third summer working at this school, but I always forget how overwhelmed and tired I am at first. We'll get used to it though. The weekend was such a wonderful friend to us haha. Although Friday wasn't too bad -- I got to go on the field trip with Cory and the older class: Toy Story 3! It was adorable. I got home and slept for two hours :)

Yesterday we literally stayed in the living room all day. It was so great to just relax and lounge. Today we went to church and then more lounging. Plus! we've both been working on various applications. Applications are the worst for sure.

Oooo something that is incredibly new: my parents got two puppies this week! They are absolutely the most adorably precious things in the whole entire world. You should come over and cuddle with them. They are male maltese puppies, Buster and Woody. Woody is only four days younger than Buster, but he was also the runt of his litter, so he is much smaller than Buster. It's so fun to see how their personalities are forming and how they are getting more and more comfortable as members of the Woodcock home. So fun!

I think that's all for now. Tasks for the week: (1)legally change my name (finally), (2) buy a bed, (3) turn in completed applications, (4) get joint bank account. So many things! I'm excited :)

God is good. Don't ever let yourself believe otherwise.

A Short Story

Okay okay okay. This upcoming post may possibly be somewhat of a novela. :)

So, I think I have to go as far back as Disney!
The first day we got there, We went to Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom. It was sweet! Cory had a great time -- he was a first time visitor. We rode the Tower of Terror and the Rockin Roller Coaster and saw The Little Mermaid! We went on the Pirates of the Caribbean adventure and rode Space Mountain. We lucked out pretty nicely with that one too -- we reluctantly walked into the line that was a 90 minute wait, and then a strange man came up to us and handed us two fastpasses! Also, the Buzz Lightyear ride was incredibly awesome :)

Day two in Orlando, we slept in and drove ourselves to Universal Studios. There we rode another some sort of Rock and Roll music rollercoaster... I may be getting the names mixed up between parks... we rode Jaws and The Mummy and Men in Black and Jimmy Netron and Twister and Disaster. The most spectacular ride of all was the Simpsons ride! It was one of those simulation rides where you sit in this car thing and all you can see it the giant screen that wraps all around you. If any of you ever go to Universal, this ride is soooo worth it.

Day three in Orlando, we were back in Disney. We slept in again and drove ourselves to Epcot. We dropped in to get a fastpass for Soarin, and then headed over to Animal Kingdom. This park was very very cool. A zoo combined with rollercoasters and singing and dancing. Mount Everest was incredible! The best rides are the ones with stories that make you a part of the action. Then we saw Finding Nemo the Musical. This was suuuper impressive. And we also watched It's Tough Being a Bug -- also awesome. It's strange to us, looking back at our day, that these were the only things we did at Animal Kingdom. But, we still feel like we experienced the park, and it was still really really fun. After that we headed back to Epcot to catch our time slot for Soarin. And I have to say, after all the hype, it was only so-so. I mean it was really very cool, but I think we just had it built up in our minds to the point that nothing else could top it... but lots of things did. I still recommend it though! After that ride, we walked around to all the countries. Such a cool idea! And, by this point, it had started to rain, so we headed on to our hotel in Jacksonville.

Words of wisdom for future Disney-ers: Just stay in a Disney resort. They have decently priced ones, and it really is worth it to avoid potentially crappy hotels and the whole parking situation. For realz.

After Disney, mostly just boring stuff -- driving to Ohio. Friday we deposited all our moneys :) and then ran a few other errands before the official big move. That night, there was a little gathering for a final send off. It was really good to be with Cory's pals one last time, all together.

Saturday morning we woke up, watched some FIFA (go USA!) and then left for Nashville. More driving, more driving, and then Keller, Texas Sunday night! Woot. My parents have been soooo incredibly gracious. They gave up their master bedroom and bathroom and turned it into a newlywed suite for us. It is seriously such a blessing to not have to be paying rent for a little while.

Finally, today! We started work bright and early at the daycare. They put Cory in the classroom with the oldest kids -- 2nd through 5th graders. I can't wait to see the ways in which God uses him to touch those kids' lives (particularly the boys). Plus! He gets to go on field trips with them all summer! Starting today with going to see Shrek 4... luckyyy... And instead of what we originally thought, I am working the water park again! I'm excited about this. If I couldn't have been in the classroom I was in last year, this would have been my second choice. I get to see all of the kids in the whole school. And then once that's over, I can float around from room to room and not be tied down to one place. I can already tell that working together is going to be one of the most fun things ever. There is only one other guy teacher in the whole school, so Cory is a pretty hot topic right now haha. I'd be lying if I said that every time one of the other teachers oogled over him I didn't get silly butterflies that he gets to be all mine for life :)

Welp, that is simply all I can write for now. If you've stuck with me this far, you are a trooper. I am impressed! Sorry if everything was a little stream-of-consciousness-like... it's late :)
Until next time!!

Don't Worry!!

Hello faithful followers!!

I just wanted to write a quick post to let you all know that we haven't forgotten! We were at Disney and Universal Studios and then lots and lots of driving and we just haven't had a chance to update. We're leaving Akron Ohio for Keller Texas in about 20 minutes. But once we get settled in Texas, I will resume updating and recap about the last few days. :) Hang tight!!

Double Duty, or, Sunshine Rain

I have a lot of catching up to do!!

The resort that we're staying at gave us two free tickets to the Mote Aquarium, which is about 10 minutes down the road. So, we headed over there yesterday! It was incredible. Sweet fish, a shark feeding, dolphin tricks, sting rays, manatees, and sea turtles. God is so cool. PLUS! I've been suuuper craving watching Finding Nemo now, but it is nowhere to be found... Then, more times at the beach and pool. Ate some pizza, watched Poseidon... satisfying :)

TODAY! We went parasailing! It was one of the most incredible things I've ever done. If you've never gone, you should go, at least before you die. It seriously is so absolutely beautiful and peaceful up there. Today was the perfect day too. The video is looking greaaaat. :)
After parasailing, I got my toenails repainted haha -- party orange. Then we went to the beach, and theeeenn rain clouds! The first sign of them. Thunder and everything. According to weather.com, it was supposed to storm everyday we were here, but this is the first sign of any bad weather. We're hoping to go snorkeling tomorrow, so hopefully it lets up by then.

Love you all so much!! Thanks for following :)

"Hey lizards, I can see you"

The above-mentioned phrase was just intimidatingly whispered out our front door by my incredible husband. When we first arrived at this little cottage, he was really freaked out by all the tiny lizards everywhere. The first night, one managed to creep inside, and it took him so long to get around to catching it that it had time to crawl under the fridge and it spent the night with us. But, by day four, they are all soooo scared of him. You don't even know.

Anyways, today Cory woke me up with bacon, eggs, and sausage! :D But then, we were still incredibly tired, so we actually went back to sleep and slept til noon, haha. It was wonderful. This evening we got all dressed up and ate some delicious food at the Dry Dock Waterfront Grill. Great food, great service, great company. And, Cory's been working on another stop motion video! The shots he has so far are pretty awesome, so get excited. Will be taking requests for background music for this one ha :)

Update on the job situation! We figured out today that Cory actually has less paperwork and things to fill out than we thought! This little thing is such a huge blessing because now we don't have to wait a month or two before things are official. We did an actual victory dance... but no pictures, sorry...

Welp, I should probably sign off now! Cory is itching to get out to the sunset on the beach for some more pictures.

Steaaaak.

Hello again!
Cory is outside taking pictures of our little cottage, so I will post those to facebook shortly.

Today we chilled around the house until about noon, and then headed over to one of the other islands for a bit of shopping! We got a little commemorative frame for ourselves, and some really sweet gifts I'm pumped about. Also! Cory got a call about the teaching position! Please, please, please keep the situation in your prayers. He has some more paperwork he needs to get settled before he can receive the official job offer, and a less-than-ideal time frame to do so. But, we know that God is on our side! He is in control of the situation beyond what we can even comprehend, and it seems that everyone He has set in motion to help us out is really pulling for him to get the job. We are truly blessed. :)

Welp, Cory is about to go put some steak on the grill! You should all be really jealous. I can tell it's going to be phenomenal :)

It's Honeymoon Time.

Well, here it is! Our first official newlywed blogpost :)

For those of you that were able to make it out to the wedding, we appreciate it so much! It truly meant the world to us that we were surrounded by so many friends and family. I had always thought that my soon-to-be-husband would be the only one in the room I could focus on. But, I was deeply overwhelmed with the amount of love from everyone else in the room! So thank you. :) Sincerely.

So we left from the reception and headed down to Cranberry for the night. (Whatever scallywag tied our car doors closed shut from the inside and put bricks behind our wheels...... nice...) From Cranberry we drove all day down to Savannah, Georgia, and yesterday we arrived here at the beach in Longboat Key, Florida!! We have an amazing little cottage -- living room, bathroom, bedroom, and full kitchen -- and we have the swimming pool and hot tub all to ourselves! I don't know how we got so lucky, but there is literally no one else around us, so we can pretty much do whatever we want whenever we want. It's awesome. And the beach is right across the street too! And because there aren't too many other people around, there have only been a few families out on the beach with us. The weather is hot, the water is absolutely beautiful -- not too hot or cold -- it is paradise.

We went grocery shopping together for the first time this morning. :)

Pretty much no plans for the rest of the day! I want to honeymoon forever! ...with an unlimited supply of money of course... I'm going to go chill with my husband now. Have an absolutely glorious day!

Love, Casey
(and Cory)

P.S. The photo at the top is one my husband took of the beautiful sunset that welcomed us our first night here!
